About Me
Dr. Anthony Okocha is the chairman of Forbs group of companies registered and operating in Lagos Nigeria. The Group companies are active in non-bank financial services specializing in corporate finance, advisory services, consumer leases, real estate brokerage, intermediation, and resellers to major OEM in printing and communications systems.
He holds a Ph.D. in credit management from the University of Panama, an MBA in Finance from University of Lagos, and a B.Sc. degree in Biochemistry from the University of Ife in Nigeria.
Dr. Anthony has vast experience in corporate & investment banking, insurance, and manufacturers’ representation. His banking career saw him worked from 1991-2010 in Devcom Merchant Bank Ltd, Equatorial Trust Bank Ltd, Ecobank Plc, Citizens Bank Ltd, IMB Int’l Bank Plc, and lastly Finbank Plc where he retired in January 2010 as Group Executive (Institutional banking).
He is a fellow of the National Institute of Credit Administration and an Honorary Senior Member (HSM) of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.
Dr. Anthony as he is fondly called is an astute corporate & investment banker, an experienced turnaround specialist, corporate strategist, and strong leadership expert.
On retirement from banking in 2010, Tony set up Forbs Consulting Group with focus on corporate finance and advisory service which he manages till date as chairman/CEO.
In 2012 Tony got into the into the Insurance space when he was appointed to the boards of African Alliance Insurance Plc and Universal Insurance Plc as non-executive director. He sat on the boards of directors of both companies from 2012 to 2021 when he retired, having served out the maximum tenor of nine (9) years on each of the Boards. Tony currently sits on the Boards of Crypto vision Information Technology Solutions Nigeria Limited, and solely drives the activities of Dubai-based Forbs Consulting FZE, United Arab Emirates
